Welcome to the Honors Discussion blog of British Literature I!
Let's start by replying to this post. When you think of the United Kingdom, what jumps to mind?

  1. When I think of the United Kingdom, the first thing that I think about is tea, and The American Revolution. Although, the best parts about England are Harry Potter and Doctor Who.

  2. When I think of the United Kingdom, I immediately think of London! My goal in life is to travel there someday. Still, I also think about tea, Harry Potter, as all previously stated, and the Queen.

  3. I think of England, Scotland, and Ireland mostly. I also think of tea and fun accents. :)

Amber says that she thinks of Big Ben and just accents in general. And boys with cute accents.

PS sorry this response is late, Amber and I misunderstood what we were supposed to do this week!

  4. True story. I do think of boys with cute accents, and Big Ben is almost always my initial mental picture at the mention of England, the United Kingdom, or Britain; whichever you prefer. Also, I'd like to add that David Tennant is an exceptional UK export, and incidentally, makes the reading of Beowulf even better when it's imagined in his voice. :)
