Two for One!

Since I missed last week, let's do two examples of King Arthur sources and analogues, one obvious and the other as obscure and abstract as you can make it.

So .....

James Callis in the Syfy Original Merlin and the Book of Beasts with a Jamaican accent.

Doctor Who as Merlin

  1. An obvious example I think of would be Disney's "The Sword in the Stone." I'm not sure if this would count for obscure, but the other example I thought of was a scene in Once Upon a Time where Snow White pulls a sword out of a stone to prove she is the rightful ruler of her kingdom. I felt like that related.

  2. To steal what Amber will most likely want to write as obvious, I would first think of Merlin. :) As far as obscure references go, I read a book by Susan Cooper called "The Dark is Rising" (they made a movie out of it too). In it, the characters go on a search for the Holy Grail and try to translate the runes written on it.
